The Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad is proud to announce that Dead River Company, has donated the former Bangor & Aroostook Railroad turntable located at Caribou ME.
The turntable is exactly the same as the turntable formerly located at Unity which was sold by the owners of the property at Unity, to the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. We were sad to see that one go, but at the time we did not own it. The table that was located at Unity came from Limestone, ME.
Thank you to Dead River!
In 2022 the turntable was loaded on an extended flatbeb truck and relocated to Unity.
This year, the turntable pit has been cleaned and new switch installed for the approach track.
We continue the process of raising money to finish this project! Look for updates and announcements!
